Following the successful delivery of several HIAS district training offers, we are pleased to share that a number of these are now available as new training opportunities on the Learning Zone for 2026/27.

Collaborative Curriculum Development: Creating a Subject Leader Toolkit
Dates:
22 April, 19 May, 15 June, 7 July and 9 September 2026
This course will equip you and your subject leaders with articulating the effective monitoring and impact on your subject developments within the wider curriculum.

New to Subject Leadership (Primary)
Dates:
23 April, 21 May, 22 June, 21 September, 23 October and 26 November 2026
This six session course is designed to support subject leaders by exploring the range of knowledge and skills required to address the specific challenges faced when leading a subject.

Back to Basics 2026 (Webinar)
Dates: 
28 April, 19 May, 16 June, 22 September, 20 October and 24 November 2026 
Back to Basics leaders and champions work together to empower parents and carers in supporting their children and navigating the challenges of parenthood. 
Delegates will learn about the Back to Basics materials and how to use these to train another B2B Champion/leader in their school.

Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and Head of School Network 2026-27

This multi-session course will be led by Primary Phase inspectors with each session focusing on a different subject selected by the group. The subjects are designed to help develop and support senior leaders in their role.

The Effective Headteacher Toolkit 2026-27

This series of workshops for experienced headteachers looks at five fundamental aspects of successful school leadership. The sessions explore how to be a highly effective headteacher in a period of competing pressures on your time and resources.

Becoming an Effective Leader

18 June, 16 July, 17 September, 12 November 2026, 21 January and 11 March 2027
This six-part course provides delegates with a sound understanding of the process of effective middle leadership, giving delegates knowledge and skills to fulfil the role.
