Prevent Training for DSLs and Other Staff Leading Training in Schools 25-26
The following quote from the Prevent Duty Guidance: Prevent duty guidance: Guidance for specified authorities in England and Wales (publishing.service.gov.uk) identifies the following:
"The Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) or Prevent lead in the setting should receive more in-depth training, including on extremist and terrorist ideologies, how to make referrals and how to work with Channel panels. It is recommended that this training is updated at least every two years, enabling the lead to support other staff on Prevent matters and update them on relevant issues”.
Therefore, this course will provide staff who are delivering Prevent training with the knowledge and resources to enable them to facilitate training to all staff in their schools.

Aspiring Primary Headteachers Programme 2025-26
The aim is to develop aspiring headteachers: giving the leadership skills, depth of knowledge, theory, breadth of understanding and confidence to take on the challenging but exciting role of being a headteacher.The programme will strengthen the impact of leaders within their current schools and give them the confidence, skills and knowledge to apply for and successfully secure a headship in the future.
This 7-session programme is designed to link to the cycle of school improvement. There will be a series of seminars and visits to schools to see and learn from successful headteachers.

The Effective Headteacher Toolkit (formerly 5 Fundamentals of Effective School Leadership) is a well-established LA approach to enhancing and refining the skills and effectiveness of experienced headteachers. Primary Safeguarding Networks 2026-27
This network focuses on the practical leadership and oversight of safeguarding and child protection in schools.
The district network is facilitated by the local LLPR with some input from Cindy Pritchard (HIAS Lead Safeguarding Adviser).
These sessions are aimed at senior leaders and are designed to enable effective oversight of safeguarding. Each session focuses on a different aspect of the leadership of safeguarding. There will also be opportunities for participants to discuss local contextual safeguarding issues, problem solve and share best practice.
Please note, this network is the continuation of existing networks that have been running in Fareham and Gosport and Havant and East Hants but is now offered across the county at a district level. Sessions run concurrently across other districts, meaning attendees can attend alternative group sessions should dates clash.
Important: This network does not replace statutory DSL training and is separate to any existing DSL networks.

Delivered by the Secondary HIAS adviser, this in-depth programme supports the future senior leaders in our schools. To share crucial updates including changes to national policy, Department for Education (DfE) performance indicators and Ofsted frameworks.

Focus on improvement in outcomes for ALL pupils, particularly those in key vulnerable groups.
